Director of Certification, MEF
Rick directs the certification efforts at MEF (with a lot of help from MEF member companies). In addition to the successful MEF-CECP (MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional) and the recently-introduced MEF-TNF (MEF Third Network Foundations), Rick leads the SERVICES and EQUIPMENT certification efforts at MEF as well.
Rick brings a career of IT management to these responsibilities, having served as a technology officer and CIO for a variety of companies. Rick was the founding chair of the Cybersecurity Credentials Collaborative, representing cybersecurity and privacy certifications worldwide. Before coming to MEF, Rick was in charge of operations for Open Network Foundation. Rick was also Director of Technology and Executive Director for the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), and R&D Director for CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Trade Association. He has helped to create and manage 10 different technical certifications for various organizations worldwide. Rick has advanced degrees from Harvard, the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and lives in Black Forest, Colorado, USA.
