Director of Systems Support, Verizon Partner Solutions
Scott Melanson is the Director of Information Technology responsible for Client Account Management and Program Governance for the Verizon Enterprise Solutions IT organization. Scott and his IT team are responsible for partnering with the business clients to align on program priorities and develop program roadmaps. His team will coordinate with IT software development lifecycle activities, drive on-time delivery or projects, and establish frequent communication to executive leadership on program status. Scott has greater than 22 years of experience in Information Technology, telecom and business systems to this role. He envisions his present role as an IT liaison to the business clients to assist in developing automation plans which drive key business objectives and enable measurable business benefits.
Prior to this role, from October 2006 through May 2012; Scott was Director of Information Technology supporting Wholesale and provisioning organizations. Scott was responsible for the development of new technology solutions, systems architecture, and project management of strategic automation programs. He managed projects by providing leadership and direction to develop and implement cost effective solutions to advance the organization with its clients and improve competitive advantage for Verizon. Between December 2000 and February 2006, Scott worked as a Technical Manager for a Production Support team. He lead a team of software engineers responsible for providing development and 24x7 production support for several mission critical applications encompassing different lines of business including the Mobile Workforce National Consolidation and the eCo-eSystems applications. This was accomplished through the deployment of new applications into production and coordinating activities with multiple functional teams including: Finance, Security, Network, System Engineering, Middleware Engineering, Operations, Crisis Management, Development, and Clients.
Scott worked with Verizon VMO and Consulting Vendors to manage both capital and human resource requirements. He began his career in Bell Atlantic as a Software Engineer, responsible for developing and supporting client/server applications and performing UNIX, DBA Administration and Application Support functions. Scott was involved in leading the development and deployment of several new applications into production across the Verizon East footprint. Prior to this, between October 1991 and October 1993, Scott worked for Analytic Sciences Corporation providing support for major Air Force management information systems. Scott has his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Western New England College. He is a past recipient of Verizon President's Award for the implementation and support of Mobile Workforce National Consolidation and the eCo-eSystems applications.
